Description

Hack cars in GTA 5 just as you could in Watch Dogs. You are able to reverse/slow down cars, speed up cars, move parked cars forward and to change the steering angle of cars. Also useful for police chases when you want to lose the cops!

It is a bit based on my Car Crash Simulator mod, but rather with an option for single cars now.

Features
  • You are able to select cars nearby to hack.
  • Move parked cars forward and change their steering angle.
  • Speed up driven cars.
  • Reverse / slow down cars. Useful when in a police chase to lose the cops!
  • Hack steering angle (experimental).

Requirements

To use this modification you need to have following requirements.

Installation

Simply copy "Car Hacking.dll" to your scripts folder located in your gta 5 main directory.

Controls

Press F9 to enable vehicle selection to choose a car to hack.

After you enabled vehicle selection, press Right arrow key to 'browse' through vehicles to hack. These vehicles will be marked with a red arrow marker above it. Pressing right arrow key each time selects a new vehicle nearby.

When you see the red marker, the vehicle is instantly selected for hacking.

After you selected a car to hack:

Numpad 4: Hack Steer, steer left.
Numpad 6: Hack Steer, steer right.
Numpad 8: Move car forward / speed up car.
Numpad 2: Move car backwards / slow down car.

Known issues

- For some reason, steering angle hacking won't work when the selected vehicle is in 'fleeing mode' or in 'chasing mode' (such as police vehicles in a police chase). I am not able to fix this. It works when vehicles drive normally.

- It might be that other hacking controls also won't work when selected vehicle is in 'fleeing mode'. I'm not sure about this.

- When a hacked car is driving backward, and you hit to speed up the car, it speeds up in the backward direction.

- Hacking does not work properly for large vehicles like large trucks. The marker isn't always visible and sometimes hack actions won't respond.

Important information

It is not recommended to press multiple times an hack action key (numpad 8 for example). You have to wait before the hack finishes, and then you can start a next hack action, like turn left. So it's not possible yet to do a move forward and turn left action at the same time!

Though you can choose to press an action key multiple times in short time, but it might result in unrealistic (but probably funny) behaviour.

Future improvements

- Improving hacking realism. It might overcome a bit unrealistic yet. Especially for parked cars. Some will be launched into the sky, or explode, but this can be fun.

- Non-Numpad version of the mod; or using a UI to hack a selected car. If you got some great ideas, post them!

- Maybe some good requests being added to the comments section
