
Added Traffic Enhanced spawns cars in traffic, with customizable colors and upgrades.
Works with add-on vehicles
The problem with other “traffic mods” is they just change the popgroups files, which results in the notorious “taxi bug” resulting in very little actual traffic diversity. Those mods are also not capable of custom colors or upgrading vehicles.
The mod has a plethora of configurable settings and I’d recommend looking through both the ini files provided as well as the readme.txt. The mod comes pre-configured in a perfectly usable state if you don’t want to bother with that.
At the very least I would recommend enabling the debug blips and notifications to see what the mod is actually doing. (present in the main .ini)
So what does the mod actually do:
-Vehicles are placed into classes(by you, configurable): Luxury, Sports, Sedan, Etc
-Every region in the map is assigned to either be Rich, Poor, or industrial, each of which has distinct spawn percentages per vehicle class(specifics in the readme and ini files)
-When a vehicle spawns there is a configurable chance for them to have a “custom color” which has a large amount of customization and even allows for enhanced exclusive “chameleon” colors
– A car can also spawn with upgrades(default 25% chance),and Liveries(10% chance)
Installation
Simply drop the provided files into your /scripts folder, if you don’t have one then just create one in the base GTA directory(where the .exe is)
Performance: No noticeable change on my system; RTX 4080 7800x3d with the default settings.
I would keep the spawn interval at 2 seconds(the default), any lower and I did notice having slightly less fps.
Bugs and planned features:
-Sometimes carjacking an npc driving a spawned car will make them behave oddly, but usually not.
-Cars can spawn in odd places rarely
Planned features:
– Parked cars
– Configurable spawn percentages for each vehicle class, for each zone
– Emergency(police) vehicle support
– Configurable weights for individual colors as opposed to just a toggle
– Ability to force certain cars to always spawn as default color(duke o death for example)
-Option to make neon glow match primary color as opposed to random
