The DM51/DM51A1 explosive/fragmentation grenade is the standard hand grenade of the German Bundeswehr, where DM stands for “Deutsches Modell” (German Model).
The grenade is made of an explosive and a cylindrical outer layer which contains about 6500 steel balls for fragmentation.
