Kitsune Trains attempts to bring real life freight companies to Los Santos! There is something from almost every major carrier. Over 100 consists, and hundreds of liveries insure that you should have a very random and realistic freight experience. Consists and liveries are all based on what I see every day living next to a main freight line. Almost every engine and rolling stock has livery support, with most also having close to the maximum (for trains) of 25 liveries each.

Kitsune Trains does NOT replace the default trains or affect the missions that call for them. If using my mod, the proper trains will still appear for the required missions.
The rest of the time, only my consists will appear. If using this mod with Overhauled Trains, the passenger trains will also appear randomly.

All models featured in Kitsune trains have proper LOD, COL, and damage effects. All trains function identical to the default Rockstar trains, no extra commands or scripts are needed.

All models featured in Kitsune Props are properly setup as static or dynamic models with proper flags, LOD, COL, Vert day/night effects, and damage/environmental reactions. They are NOT simply a “parked train model”, but an actual static version created as a prop. All props spawn and despawn just like any other native prop in the game. No map editors or object spawner/script is needed. Props are scattered throughout San Andreas. Check all the track areas. Check near the lakes. There may even be a 1953 alien invasion happening on a small island. What does that have to do with trains?… Well nothing to be honest. But its in there, and removable if you don’t want it.

The custom_maps files included are for new train stations around Los Santos. These files are Ymap and all objects spawn and despawn just like any native prop in the game.

OVERHAULED TRAINS compatibility is possible thanks to permission from Walter for allowing me to edit/mash-up a compatible TRAINS.XML file. Check out OVERHAULED TRAINS here:

Original TRAIN STATION V mod created by MrGTAmodsgerman. These stations can be found randomly around the rails of San Andreas. Converted and used with permission and much thanks!

You can also install the Railroad Engineer III mod and then add the names of my locomotives to its list to drive them.

ABOUT MY MODELS:

All train models were kept as close to “Rockstar size” poly count as I could manage. But the texture files will be considerably larger because of all the liveries. NONE of my models are locked. This is for a few very basic reasons. I am open to anyone in the community who would like to get involved with this and help me with future updates. I also embed my info into my models themselves, so there is no point in stealing them, even if you lock them, I can see my siggy in HxD, so forget about it lol.

KNOWN ISSUES:

A few of the Locomotives and rolling stock do not cast a shadow. This is a paint material error and I will fix it in a coming update.
Some of the parts of the converted train stations do not perfectly line up after conversion. I will align these in a coming update. They were perfect before conversion, probably just a hiccup in a few spots.

And finally there is also the bonus sci-fi train. Silly, but fun. Its also removable if you don’t care for it. But its really fun at night!

Changelog:
KT7.3 UPDATE!
The KT 7.3 update provides a nicer way to exit kiosk/mission created trains. Trains will now Emergency stop or Mission Abort stop instead of simply tossing you out and disappearing. This only effects the kiosk/mission trains. Random trains will still just toss you out. Maybe in another update I will add the ‘leap from moving vehicle animation” for the random trains. Let me know if that sounds interesting to any of you. Don’t worry, you do not have to download this huge mod again just for this. The download here on 5mods actually contains the script updates. But a link to KT7.1 is also included for those who do not yet have it.

KT7.2 UPDATE!
This download contains script fixes by Lee2202 and myself for users who do not have English as their Windows setting. It also contains fixes including prompts for users who are unable to use the MissionTrain kiosks or enter trains as passengers. Don’t worry, you do not have to download this huge mod again just for this. The download here on 5mods actually contains the script updates. But a link to KT7.1 is also included for those who do not yet have it.

KT7 UPDATES!
This one is really good everyone! Now that I have had some unexpected time home, I have started learning scripting. KT7 now gives you a prompt when you can enter ANY passing train that has an available passenger seat. Once inside the train, you can change seats or exit. You can order specific passenger or freight trains from kiosks at the train stations. These stations will now be marked on your mini-map when you are close enough or on the pause map all the time. Each station has a kiosk and many have unique functions. Look for the experimental “star track” as well as the paddle boat steamer and the ride-able cargo ship ocean motion. You can even take a train to and from North Yankton. Most of all the purpose of my new “missiontrains” script is to make interacting with the trains fun and give the trains an actual task to perform instead of just going in circles around the track. As I improve with scripting, I will add more and better features and functions to the missions. The trains have had fixes and improvements to the textures, some of the LODs and many of the collision files. Corrupted models have been found and repaired. In testing this has been a super stable version. KT7 also features fixes and updates to the animation script and the audio thanks to Lee2202. And thanks to an update by Jotrius for the Engineer script, KT has now has more train driving and riding options! Make sure to get the updated Railroad Engineer

KITSUNE TRAINS 6.1 UPDATE INFO:

After many many years, Rockstar has decided to do something with a train again. Joy. But for many of you on the newest Los Santos Tuners update, this has broken your trains and left you with just one default train spawning. This patch will place an updated Trains.xml in the new location that Rockstar places it in since the newest DLC. This should have your Kitsune Trains mod working again normally. This is the very fist version of my patch so if it is not working for you, please be patient. I am trying to get all of the changes figured out and get my mod fully compatible again.

KITSUNE TRAINS 6 UPDATE INFO:

Kitsune Trains 6 has tons of awesome new train features thanks to a companion script created by the amazing Lee2202. There are many changes and the features everyone has been asking for are finally here! Working wheel and mechanical animations for the steam trains and MANY new steam trains added. But there is much much more! Trains will change speeds on their own. They can have custom sounds. Proper sounds/bells/whistle/horn etc.. Trains will sound horns/whistles/bells at road crossings. Better smoke effects. Wheel slip. New models, more interiors created, and many texture improvements. Stability is fixed and the mod has been tested on several different systems by dedicated testers. All versions of GTA 5 are currently supported. There is also an option to add ditch lights and light effects to diesel trains. There is a LOT of IMPORTANT documentation for this version of the mod. It is NO LONGER compatible with ANY other train mods except for the train engineer script. Facts, changes, requirements, compatibility and reasons are ALL very well documented in the included files. If you do not read these, good luck getting all of the features to work.
