AddOn [PedSelector] 1.2

The AddOn PedSelector is a script/tool for Grand Theft Auto Single Player that allows players to easily select and manage addon peds added to their game. This tool simplifies character switching, providing a user-friendly menu to access and spawn addon peds seamlessly within the game.

📋 REQUIREMENTS:

🔧 STEP 1: INSTALL SCRIPT HOOK V

  1. Download Script Hook V.
  2. Extract the ZIP file.
  3. Copy dinput8.dll and ScriptHookV.dll to your GTA V root directory (where GTA5.exe is located).


🔧 STEP 2: INSTALL SCRIPT HOOK V .NET

  1. Download Script Hook V .NET.
  2. Extract the ZIP file.
  3. Copy ScriptHookVDotNet.asi, ScriptHookVDotNet2.dll, and ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll to your GTA V root directory.


🔧 STEP 3: INSTALL LEMONUI

  1. Download LemonUI (SHVDN3 version).
  2. Extract the ZIP file.
  3. Copy LemonUI.SHVDN3.dll into your scripts folder (create it if it doesn’t exist).


🔧 STEP 4: INSTALL PEDSELECTOR (MANUALLY VIA OPENIV)

  1. Download PedSelector and extract the ZIP file.
  2. Open OpenIV and enable EDIT MODE.
  3. Add the “pedselector” folder to mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/
  4. Open dlclist.xml in mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/ and add this line manually:
    <Item>dlcpacks:/pedselector/</Item>


🔧 STEP 5: ADD CUSTOM PEDS

  1. Run AddonPedsEditor.exe as Administrator.
  2. Use the tool to add custom ped models (.ydd, .ytd, .ymt).
  3. Set the ped type (Normal, Male, or Female) and click Save.


✅ STEP 6: VERIFY INSTALLATION

  1. Launch GTA V.
  2. Press L (default key) to open the PedSelector menu.
  3. Navigate to Addon Peds — your custom peds should appear in the A–Z list.
  4. If everything is set up correctly, your new peds will appear in-game!

🗂️ DLCLIST.XML AUTOMATIC COMPILER
The DLCLIST.XML Automatic Compiler will generate a new dlclist.xml file for you each time you run the program.

  • Run the program to generate the new dlclist.xml.
  • Replace the old dlclist.xml with the newly generated one in your GTA V directory.
  • Ensure all DLC packs are properly added to the new dlclist.xml.


🚨 TROUBLESHOOTING

GAME CRASHES?

  • Ensure all required mods (ScriptHookV, ScriptHookV .NET, LemonUI) are properly installed in the correct folders.


PED NOT SHOWING?

  • Make sure the ped files are in the correct location inside mods/update/x64/dlcpacks/pedselector/
  • Verify they are properly configured and saved in AddonPedsEditor.


MENU WON’T OPEN?

  • Confirm LemonUI.SHVDN3.dll is inside the scripts folder, not the GTA V root directory.

VERSION 1.0.6 UPDATE

In version 1.0.6, you can now change the menu key on the fly while in-game! Simply go into the settings menu, and you’ll find the option to reassign the key for opening the AddonPeds menu without needing to restart the game. This feature allows for quicker adjustments to your controls while you’re immersed in gameplay.
